Indications
- inflammatory and degenerative diseases of the musculoskeletal system including: rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis and other spopdiloarthropathies, osteoarthritis, gouty arthritis, bursitis, tenosynovitis, pain syndromes from the spine (lumbago, ischialgia, ossalgia, neuralgia, myralgia, radialgia);
- renal and biliary colic;
- post-traumatic and postoperative pain syndrome, accompanied by inflammation;
- severe migraine attacks.
Dosage regimen
The dose of the drug is selected individually, while in order to reduce the risk of side effects, it is recommended to use the minimum effective dose, if possible, with the shortest possible treatment period, in accordance with the purpose of treatment and the patient's condition.
The drug Diclofenac Velfarm in ampoules is especially suitable for the initial treatment of inflammatory and degenerative rheumatic diseases, as well as pain due to inflammation of non-rheumatic origin.
The drug Diclofenac Velfarm is administered by deep injection into the gluteal muscle.
Do not use Diclofenac Velfarm injection for more than 2 consecutive days. If necessary, treatment can be continued with diclofenac in tablets or rectal suppositories.
When carrying out an intramuscular injection in order to avoid damage to the nerve or other tissues at the injection site (which can lead to muscle weakness, paresis or decreased sensitivity), it is recommended to adhere to the following rules.
The drug should be administered deeply intramuscularly into the upper outer quadrant of the gluteal region in compliance with aseptic rules.
The dose is usually 75 mg (contents of 1 ampoule) 1 time per day.
In severe cases (for example, with colic), as an exception, 2 injections of 75 mg can be performed with an interval of several hours (the second injection should be carried out in the contralateral buttock).
Alternatively, one injection of the drug per day (75 mg) can be combined with other dosage forms of diclofenac (tablets, rectal suppositories), while the total daily dose should not exceed 150 mg.
For migraine attacks, treatment is started as soon as possible after the start of the attack with the IM administration of the drug Diclofenac Velfarm in a dose of 75 mg (1 ampoule). If necessary, it is possible to use diclofenac in other dosage forms, while the total daily dose should not exceed 150 mg per day.
The solution of the drug should be clear. Do not use a solution with a crystalline or other precipitate.
The ampoule of the drug should be used only once. The solution should be administered immediately after opening the ampoule. After a single use, unused residues of the solution of the drug Diclofenac Velfarm must be disposed of in accordance with local requirements.
Do not mix the solution of the drug Diclofenac Velfarm contained in ampoules with solutions of other drugs for injection.
- Children and adolescents under 18

diclofenac wellpharm, a solution for intramuscular administration, should not be used in children and adolescents under 18 years of age due to the difficulty of dosing the drug; if treatment is necessary in this category of patients, diclofenac can be used in tablets or suppositories
- Elderly patients (≥ 65 years old)
