Dosage regimen
The dose and concentration of procaine solution depend on the nature of the surgery, method of application, condition and age of the patient.
- For infiltration anesthesia

use 5 mg / ml solution
- For conduction anesthesia

use 10-20 mg / ml solutions (up to 25 ml)
- For epidural anesthesia

use a 20 mg / ml solution (20-25 ml)
- With perirenal blockade (according to A.V. Vishnevsky)

50-80 ml of 5 mg / ml solution is injected into the perinephric fiber
- With circular and paravertebral blockade

5-10 ml of 5 mg / ml solution is injected intradermally
- With vagosympathetic blockade

15-50 ml of a 5 mg / ml solution is administered
- With retrobulbar (regional) anesthesia

5-8 ml of a 20 mg / ml solution are administered
Higher doses for adult infiltration anesthesia: the first single dose at the beginning of the operation is not more than 150 ml for 5 mg/ml solution. In the future, no more than 400 ml for 5 mg/ml solution is administered during each hour of surgery. To reduce absorption and lengthen the action with local anesthesia, an additional 0,1% solution of epinephrine hydrochloride is added - 1 drop per 2-5-10 ml procaine solution.
The maximum dose for use in children over 12 years old is 15 mg/kg.
