Indications
Arterial hypertension in adults.Dosage regimen
The tablets are taken orally without chewing.
The daily dose is 1 tablet of the drug 1 time per day (in the morning) with a sufficient amount of liquid.
In the treatment of patients with arterial hypertension, the dose should not exceed 2,5 mg (increased risk of side effects without enhancing the antihypertensive effect).
If after 4-8 weeks of treatment the desired therapeutic effect is not achieved, it is not recommended to increase the dose of the drug. Instead, it is recommended that another antihypertensive drug, which is not a diuretic, be included in the drug regimen. In cases where treatment must be started with two drugs, the dose of indapamide remains equal to 2,5 mg in the morning once a day.
In elderly patients, the plasma concentration of creatinine should be monitored taking into account age, body weight and gender.
The drug at a dose of 2,5 mg/day (1 tablet) can be prescribed for elderly patients with normal or slightly impaired renal function.
