Dosage regimen
The drug should be used only by doctors with experience in conducting regional anesthesia or under their supervision.
It is necessary to use the lowest possible dose for adequate anesthesia.
The doses given below are indicative for adult patients. The dose should be adjusted individually for each individual patient.
In elderly patients and women in late pregnancy, a reduced dose should be used.
Recommended doses in adults - see full instructions for use.
The recommended area of administration is below L3.
There is currently no clinical experience with doses above 20 mg.
Spinal injection should be administered only after accurate determination of the subarachnoid space by lumbar puncture (clear cerebrospinal fluid flows from the needle for spinal anesthesia or is observed with aspiration). In case of unsuccessful anesthesia, another attempt to administer the drug can be made only if it is administered at a different level and to a lesser extent. One of the reasons for the lack of effect may be poor intrathecal distribution of the drug, which can be corrected by changing the position of the patient.
Children (weighing up to 40 kg):
Сan be used in children. In newborns and infants, the volume of cerebrospinal fluid is relatively large, so they require a higher dose per kg of body weight than adults to achieve a similar level of blockade.
Regional anesthesia in children should be carried out by a doctor with experience in using this type of anesthesia in patients of this population.
The doses indicated in the table are indicative for pediatric patients; individual deviations were observed. Standard guides provide information on factors affecting various blockade techniques and individual patient needs. It is necessary to use the lowest possible dose for adequate anesthesia.
Recommended doses in children - see full instructions for use.
